Understanding the unattended Operating System Deployment
When you install Windows from scratch, traditionally you would boot from the Windows CD-Rom and the setup routine will spring into life. During this setup process, Windows will begin to ask you questions like: What is your OEM or product key? What domain do you want to join? What TCP/IP setting do you want?
The Microsoft experience of installing windows with this constant communication can become very tiresome, very quickly. Installing Windows manually in an enterprise environment is expensive and time consuming.
OSDeploy software leverages Microsoft’s unattended.txt answer file. This file allows you to answer all of those installation questions, and enables you to execute a Windows installation from a single management console. From this console you can manage your whole organisations operating system requirements.
