MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 13, 2009 – New Boundary Technologies® today announced the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has awarded it U.S. Patent 7,568,018. This patent protects the company’s proprietary configuration groups and the “dynamic identification and administration of networked clients.”

Unlike most device identification and configuration methods, New Boundary Technologies’ configuration groups allow IT administrators to:

• Group and take action on devices based on granular configurations – such as software application, hard-disk configuration, CPU manufacturer, network configuration, disk space, memory configuration, etc. – and not just device identity or name.
• Perform actions on devices based on their exact configuration when the action is to be carried out; not based on time-sensitive and pre-dated queries that become void when even a single device configuration changes.
• Replace repeated, time-consuming scans with a “set-and-forget” process that continuously checks device states – including unstable states, viruses or other issues – and automatically performs specified configuration tasks to correct problems.
